Digitally detailed Mini Marcoses

A chap under the nom de plume of Boxman dropped me a line recently, about the Mini Marcoses he created for a computer game called GT Legends. "I hope you appreciate my work, that was done with a lot of support from your work." I do. As a matter of fact I was impressed by the detailed job he'd done on these great little cars. Have a look below.

  1. Skins / paint jobs are his works and very well executed, but the car / model itself is the same thing that I and Tokin built few years ago.

Nice to see it gather some skins.

Hopefully these get updated to use version 2 of the car when it gets released as it will feature additional 1293cc S physics. (Original set has 970 / 1070 S physics made by me, with colotti 5 speed gearbox used by Billy Dulles in 1966, more about his racing history with Marcos here: http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/sport/lm66bd/index.html )

    1. Is the version 2 being released? I can't wait any more, I've been wanting to try that ever since I first heard about it. If you want some skins, and if the map is different, I would like to paint those for the release, give me a call.

    2. Hi,
Yes the version 2 is in works, though there's quite few mods in Protobuilders Garage.
However, I can drop you no-grip PM when it's close to finished, so you can get your hands on it bit early and get the skins updated. :)

  2. Thanks for your approval on my work! Coming from you, there's no better compliment that anyone can say about it now! I will paint more Mini Marcoses with time, and maybe some Unipowers GT (some colleges of mine developed the model, but it's very low definition, I may wait until it gets better to start), but now I'm working mostly on Broadspeed GT / GTS. If you would like, I can share to you when I have some of those ready. BTW, I have ready to release the British GTS from when it started racing in Zandvoort (you know the one..: http://maximummini.blogspot.pt/2013/05/today-46-years-ago.html), but I'm not sure about the colors, is it black and with a silver stripe or something else, could you tell me?
I want to paint some more of this and the Australian car (and any racing GT as well), if you want to suggest any I all ears.
    Thanks again!

    1. Afaik, the british GTS was as press car originally black and later on when raced, dark green. (one of the darker tones of BRG.) after being few years in Netherlands, it was painted to light metallic blue (or maroon perhaps?)

So, there's at least 3 different colors it has been.
      - Here's the original black one: http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/images_3/FitzpatrickBroadspeedGTSBrandsMarch66RefEss48-15-3_tn.jpg
      - Then it was the dark green (at least in 1970 in zandvoort): https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2771/4484532745_08b03bd28c_z.jpg
      - And last, 1971 Zandvoort outfit: http://touringcarracing.net/Pictures/1971/Paas-1971-1.jpg

    2. Thanks a lot, I couldn't find that information anywhere, I'll probably now paint that car in some of those other guises.
