Good idea. Indeed it does seem that quite a few Status 365s were bought but never built. Apart from Richard's info and mine I also found something in Status boss Brian Luff's old files, which I copied years ago, giving another few records: two of them in one and the same place: Newtownards in Northern-Ireland plus one in Bridgewater, Somerset. I'll see if I can find out more about these, too. Meanwhile, if you have more information on any of these cars or on any other Status 365, please let us know.

I built NWO 824R! It was registered with the DVLA as a Status 365. After a long battle with the DVLA and HMRC (with the help of my MP), it was declared as a new car & I happily paid the ‘new car tax’. It had a tuned 1100 engine, with lcb exhaust & a 1 1/2” SU carb, plus a ported head. Logged officially by a motorway Police office at 102mph flat out (he was a friend of mine). I sold it to a chap called Martin who lived in Somerset & collected unusual cars This was in 1986. I used to run the official register a believe that 23 were sold but a lot weren’t built as it was a complex car to put together. You could safely do a u-turn at 40mph as it had a very low centre of gravity! Happy days…
