That is indeed an amazing photo and it looks like the smash was one easily forgotten also and I was amazed to hear that Gilbertson walked out with only minor injuries. Who knows what happened to the rebuilt car..?

This was a fascinating read and a great piece of automotive history. It is amazing to see how that 1966 MiniSprint was heavily crashed yet rebuilt so well, and even more surprising that the driver walked away with only minor injuries . Stories like this really show the passion and dedication behind classic car restoration and motorsport culture. It also makes you wonder where that car ended up after all these years. In a way, it reflects how even rare or damaged vehicles can still hold value, much like what an oldest car buyer gold coast service looks for today.
