THE PRISONER MINI MOKE

SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD

This is the original and first of the Mini Mokes as seen in the 1966 hit television series The Prisoner, starring and driven by Patrick McGoohan. The car was converted by Wood & Pickett and used to replicate another three Mokes for the series. It was found in a rough but very original state in The Netherlands in 2011 and the car was fully restored between 2015 and 2020.

Everything that could be saved was saved to keep the car as original as possible, whilst obtaining anything else to bring it back to how it looked back in 1966. Despite being in structurally poor condition, the mechanical side was good, including the uprated Cooper 998cc engine, which was fitted at the time to give it a little more 'oomph' as this Moke had a towbar fitted to enable it to pull a small trailer (as seen in the series). A full overhaul and reconditioning of the engine was undertaken in early 2020. As of August 2020 the car is road ready and comes with display items to use at shows. History file includes several magazine articles about the car and full photographic record of the restoration.

Price: to be at auctioned in November. Details to follow. Contact Phil at philscollectables@yahoo.co.uk
Now sold in auction (13 November 2021)

BOXER SPRINT PROJECT

SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD

This is the one-off 1986 Boxer Sprint project, modified by its late designer Ian Shearer to his new 'Nimbus Sprint' design with removed doors for a simple step over. The monocoque bodyshell comes with the front and clamshells and two engines. The first of these is a Nissan Micra 16v Twin Cam engine and gearbox. Ian Sherarer son Will: "Dad was going to build the Boxer with this to get it on the road quickly while he rebuilt the original A-series engine." The latter is stripped down and is believed to be a custom build 1380cc with lightened and balanced camshaft that has only run about 3-5K miles since new. Will Shearer: "I do remember Dad saying that it was a stable build and hadn't been overly tuned."
Furthermore the project comes with the full set of moulds, a set of Minilite wheels and a set of carburettors. Will: "I think these are from a Hayabusa, they are certainly motorcycle. I believe they are for the Nissan Engine." All the other items used by Ian Shearer for the rebuild come with the car: GRP mat, microfibre filler additives, resins, hardeners/catalysts and specialist tools, which include a cylinder honing tool. Price: £3000. Contact Will on wilburforce83@gmail.com.

DEEP SANDERSON 301 COUPE

SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD

Thought to be the earliest surviving original chassis car, number 3 was built in early 1963 and developed, purely as a race car, with an assault on the 1963 Le Mans event in mind. After the event the car passed to a French enthusiast who competed in it for a number of years until ill health forced retirement. The car was repatriated to the UK, where it sat neglected in a lock-up until rescued by it’s present owner in 2002. With considerable input from Chris Lawrence, the car’s designer/driver, a complete chassis up restoration was completed in 2009, a Historic Technical Passport being issued to it in 2010. The car is now offered for sale in excellent order not only with a useful spares package, but importantly a file of period documentation/photographs, restoration shots and a letter of authentication signed by Chris Lawrence. Price: £ 45,000. Contact David in UK: rambo_racer@hotmail.com or +44 7802 854334
